Have yourself a merry little retro Christmas, with our amazing selection of vintage style gifts. From Slush Puppie Machines that look just like the real 70s thing, to classic arcade games on a keyring, we’ll help you bring back the sparkle of Christmas past.

10 reasons Christmas was better in the 70s and 80s.

  1. The decorations: Designer trees take all the fun out of Christmas. As the gaudiest of decades, the 80s were perfectly suited to the season. Back then, trees were loud, colourful and dripping with tinsel – just how we like them.
  2. Circling in catalogues: Creating an online wish-list will never live up to the pleasure of sitting on the living-room floor with the Argos catalogue and some felt tips. There. We said it.
  3. The toys: From Rubik’s cubes and transformers to Care Bears and Gameboys, toys were simpler back then and all the better for it. This Wireless Retro Game Charger brings back the excitement of opening that Nintendo all over again.
  4. The music: While the 70s had strong Christmas pop song game (I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day, So Here It Is Merry Christmas) the best Christmas songs of all time were released in the 80s. From George Michael smouldering in the snow for Last Christmas, and the Pogues’ duet with Kirsty MacColl on Fairy-tale of New York, to the wonder that was Band Aid, the 80s absolutely nailed it.
  5. The food and drink: Babycham, Quality Street, trifle. Nobody was on the Keto diet that’s for sure.
  6. The Christmas jumpers: Back in the 80s they were worn without a trace of irony, which is the only way it should happen.
  7. Christmas TV: Sure, we love Netflix, but when you only had 3 or 4 channels, there was something just amazing about the anticipation of waiting for Christmas movies and TV.  And because there was no On Demand, the whole family would come together on the sofa to watch it. Also, The Snowman. The end.
  8. The computer games: Forget Fortnite, Pacman on the Atari blew our tiny minds. This retro Pacman Keyring takes us right back there and with this Plug and Play Retro Controller with 200 Games, you can literally relive the Christmas days of your childhood.
  9. Christmas annuals: The Beano annual was an absolute highlight of our year. What japes would Dennis and Gnasher get up to this time and what about those Bash Street Kids?
  10. The weather: It’s not our imagination. It did snow more back then. We’re still dreaming of a white Christmas this year though.
